These quarterly reviews sure come around quickly. I can’t believe that the next time I’ll be writing one will be at the end of the year. To be honest, I genuinely didn’t expect to have kept my blog up for this long, so I’m quite proud of that achievement. It’s been quite a good couple of months, and there’s definitely a fair bit that’s happened this summer. So, here’s my quarterly review for July, August and September.

The Lion King
July was the month that me and my friends had been waiting for – the new Lion King was released! Lillie, Fern and I made a date to head to the cinema to get a full on dose of Disney magic. Full disclosure: I cried within the first five minutes. Just the whole Circle of Life sequence and the first shots of Baby Simba tipped me right over the edge. I think in total, I cried about 3 times during that movie. Overall my thoughts on the new Lion King were positive, aside from one, and that was Beyoncé. I just didn’t like her. Soz. However, my opinion was kept positive thanks to Timon and Pumbaa, who were played excellently by Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner.
Escape Room
This was a first for me. One of my friends who I used to work with signed us up for an escape room one evening and it was actually quite good fun. I didn’t really know what to expect, although part of me was expecting a load of scary, jumpy stuff. It was actually nothing like that – we did a movie themed room, and it was all pretty tame, but it was still a good laugh. I’m not sure entirely how much use I was, because I’m crap at any kind of puzzles that involve numbers, maths or general logic, but we still managed to escape within the hour!
Model Cat
One of my favourite moments in August had to be Tilly’s photoshoot. My amazing friend Cheryl is a wonderfully talented photographer, and she very kindly agreed to come over and have Tilly be her model for the day. Not only that, but we had a long overdue catch up over lunch too and it was such a lovely afternoon with lots of laughs and putting the world to rights.

Becoming an Everyday Role Model
August was also the month that I became an Everyday Role Model for My Need to Live. Need to Live is a site that aims to enhance the lives of students through support and information on education, wellbeing, careers, lifestyle and finance. I’m aiming to contribute one post a week but over time I would love to put more out there. I’m really enjoying it so far and the support I’ve had from my friends and family has been amazing.
FriendsFest & Fam
The last weekend of August was a busy one. We had tickets for FriendsFest which was so much fun, but what was even better was that I got to see some family I hadn’t seen in a long time. My brother and his family were back from Canada for the first time since my wedding, so it was amazing to see them and catch up.

Disneyland
Of course, mine and Lillie’s trip to Disneyland was truly the highlight of the last three months. It was absolutely exhausting, but it was one of my favourite holidays I’ve ever had. We had so many laughs, and the experience of watching the fireworks in front of the castle was an experience I’ll never forget. Not only that, but it was quite an accomplishment for me anxiety wise too.

So what’s happening over the next couple of months? Well, October is usually pretty busy. There’s a fair few birthdays, and it’s also my wedding anniversary too. It’s my 4th wedding anniversary, but because I haven’t really talked about it properly on my blog yet, I’ll be doing a special post about the whole day. We’ve got a few comedy gigs booked in too, starting with Ellie Taylor on the 3rd October, so that’ll be something to look forward to as well. Then of course, it’ll soon be December – whaaat?? This year has gone ridiculously fast.
Tilly is so gorgeous! ☺️ You’ve done so much! I’ve always been intrigued by escape rooms but scared it will set my anxiety off from feeling trapped 😫 Did you feel like you couldn’t leave if you needed to? Hope you’re proud of all you’ve achieved, especially after how you were feeling in your last post ❤️xx

Haha she knows it as well I think! Honestly, I had that fear too but they told us at the very beginning for health and safety reasons you’re not actually locked in – you could leave at any time and go back in when you were ready. It definitely made me feel more at ease but at the same time it felt like a bit of an anti-climax! Although when we actually went in my anxiety basically went because I knew I had the option to pop out if I started to get a bit overwhelmed! Thank you for stopping by 🙂 xx

Seems like you’ve had an exciting few months. I’ve not been to Disney Land (or was it Disney World? Which ever the one is in Orlando) since I was 14. I found it ok, but I wasn’t really the right age to enjoy it

I think you definitely need to time it right – I know when I was 14 I wasn’t really interested – I think when you’re that age you go through a phase where Disney isn’t considered very cool! Going as an adult was great though because I appreciated the scenery and the general experience so much more – I think if I’d gone as a child it would have been all about the princesses and the merch. Thank you for reading! x

Such a sweet post! I love recaps/round ups, it’s so fun to re-live the memories whilst writing isn’t it?! Then sharing it makes them even sweeter 😊 Disneyland is such a happy place, what a fun experience. Matt and I SO BADLY want to do an escape room, we just haven’t got round to planning a double date with our friends yet!!

Look at Tilly being a wee model! What a cutie. You seemed to have a great few months! I wish I had visited the Friend’s set before it was finished. I think it was in NI briefly but I’m not sure.

Thank you 🙂 I was too but the guy sat us down and told us we could leave at any time and we weren’t actually locked in – while it was a massive relief anxiety wise in a way it kind of took all the suspense out of it haha! Thank you for stopping by 🙂 xx

It was so good! Of course it’ll never top the original, but they did a good job of it for sure. It’s out on DVD next week apparently!
