It’s well known that I don’t really do beauty blogs. However, with the horrific state of my skin lately I feel I really should look at trying more beauty products and sharing my findings. It’s something I’m looking at doing in the new year, and so to kick things off, I thought I’d write a bit about the beauty products I’ve been loving recently. Enjoy!

Nivea Fruit Shine Watermelon Lip Balm
I’ve always really liked Nivea’s beauty products, and their lip balms have always been a go-to for me. This comes in a number of different scents and tones but I really like the watermelon one because it smells lovely and fresh. The colour is lovely, not too dark or heavy but just enough to give them a little pop of colour. It doesn’t dry out my lips and it keeps them feeling soft and hydrated all day. Plus, it’s cheap and cheerful too.
Lush Sleepy Body Lotion
I’ve read about this from a number of bloggers I follow and when I first heard about it, I knew I had to try it. Sleepy is a wonderfully soft body lotion that’s perfect for getting ready for bed. It’s creamy, malty and infused with lavender and Tonka bean and the smell is so relaxing. Plus, it’s so creamy that you only need to use a small amount each time – I’ve been using this for two weeks and it’s like I’ve used hardly any of it! The scent is just so calming and soft, it’s perfect for helping you feel relaxed while you put your pyjamas on!
Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion
I’ve been a fan of Aveeno creams for ages now, and this remains one of my firm favourites. I mainly use this as a hand cream, as this time of year my hands need a little extra care, but it’s specifically meant to be an all over body lotion. They do a specific hand cream, but I find for roughly the same price this does the same thing and you get much more of it! I’ve raved about it before, and I will continue to do so. It’s light and quickly absorbed, but the moisture it provides lasts for ages, so it’s great for slathering on before you go to sleep or just popping on a bit here and there during the day.
Johnson’s Face Care Makeup Be Gone Pampering Face Wipes
I’ve tried many different forms of face wipes and makeup removers over the years, but nothing quite lives up to these Johnson’s ones. I find they remove every trace of makeup without making your skin feel rough afterwards, and the moonflower scent is so dreamy. It’s a really soothing scent that’s perfect for calming you down and getting you ready for bed. Literally one wipe is enough to do the job, even when you’re wearing heavy makeup or waterproof mascara, and my skin feels so fresh and clean afterwards.
Barry M That’s How I Roll Waterproof Mascara
I’ve mentioned before that I always usually wear waterproof mascara because my eyes have a tendency to water a lot, and I’ve struggled to find a decent one over the last couple of months. However, I recently discovered this little gem from Barry M. I’ve been really happy with this mascara, it goes on really well and lasts all day. The brush is nice and thin meaning you don’t end up with loads of clumps, and it makes my lashes look longer and fuller. For £4.99 as well, it’s a bargain!
What beauty products are you feeling at the moment? I’m looking at trying more new products over the next few months so if anyone has any ideas, feel free to let me know! In particular, any suggestions for acne-prone skin and dull, flat hair will be greatly appreciated!

I really want to try the Lush sleepy body balm! x

I’m going to give reusable cotton pads a try in the new year as I want to do a few things to be a bit more sustainable, but like you say it’s always good to have some wipes to hand for travelling and stuff! Thanks for reading 🙂 x

I love Nivea lip balms too and swear by them in the Winter months. I’ve heard great things about Sleepy as well, I have the shower gel but haven’t tried the body balm yet.

I literally can’t go through winter without a lip balm, I’d never tried the watermelon before until I received it as a gift for Christmas. I’ve never tried the lush body lotion before I’ll add it to my list. Thankyou for writing this post 💗
